Delia Margaret “Margie” Cripps
Margie passed away peacefully on Monday morning, January 13, 2025, at the age of 91, during a short stay at Kingston of Miamisburg. She was a devoted and faithful Christian, as well as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Margie was born on December 9, 1933, in Temperance Hall, TN, to Lillie Mae (née Dale) and Grady Wilson Judkins. She was one of twelve children in a farming family. She often shared stories about milking cows, doing chores, and working in the fields. Margie felt fortunate to have been raised in a Christian home with a praying mother. She frequently reminisced about her journeys to the brush arbor meetings of the holiness churches, which usually involved walking long distances and crossing creeks. During these meetings, they used tree limbs for protection, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. This strong foundation guided her daily life and influenced her interactions with others as a devout Christian with a deep personal love for Jesus Christ.
Margie married TW Cripps in DeKalb Co., TN, in 1950. They would soon move to Dayton, Ohio, where she would spend the rest of her life building a legacy of love and kindness. TW and Margie shared a beautiful 53-year marriage filled with love and laughter. Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, TW, her son Rick, and her siblings: Rose Judkins, Vada Davis, James (“Dink”) Judkins, Inez Taylor, Dimple Hale, Imogene (Jean) Page, G.W. (“Buddy”) Judkins, Helen Maxwell, and Claudia Bain.
Family was at the heart of Margie’s life. She greeted everyone with open arms and a strong embrace, showering them with hugs and kisses. Her caring nature extended to all who knew her. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends, and she cherished the close-knit community of neighbors who surrounded her throughout her life.
Margie is survived by her son, Jerry (Cheryl) Cripps of Miamisburg, her daughter-in-law, Debi Cripps-Yost of Kettering, four grandchildren: Nick (Tricia) Cripps (Germantown), Amber (Michael) Seay (Dayton), Krista Cripps (Miamisburg), and Brian Cripps (Kaylynn) of Miamisburg, as well as seven great-grandchildren: Gabby, Dominick, Cheyann, Liam, Logan, Lukas, and Madden; two brothers, Doug (Peggy) Judkins (Hilton Head, SC), and Richard and (Patsy) Judkins (Smithville, TN).
Her legacy continues through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and laughter. She shared a special bond with her dog, Lulu, who provided her with companionship and love. Margie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone who experienced her warmth and generosity. She will be remembered not only for her strength but also for the love she brought into our lives. Her spirit and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
