Margaret Zopff

May 31, 1960 — December 27, 2012

Margaret Marie Hooker was born May 31, 1960 at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska and raised in Gahanna, Ohio, the youngest daughter of Bill and Rita Hooker. She was educated at St. Matthew's Catholic School and Gahanna Lincoln High School in Gahanna. After graduation from Gahanna Lincoln, she attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She transferred to the University of Maryland where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management. She applied her Information Systems knowledge with government contractors Pacer Systems and McDonnell Douglas in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. While working for McDonnell Douglas at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, her father's health deteriorated and Peggy travelled each weekend to Dayton, Ohio to visit him and assist her mother. After his passing in 1990, she continued the trips to be with her mother. In 1991, Peggy found employment with LOGTEC in Fairborn, Ohio and relocated to Dayton to live with and support her mother, Rita. It was there that she hired and supervised the one who would become her best friend, Tom.

Peggy and Tom were married in February, 1994. She immediately earned a 3 year old stepson, Christian. Two years later, she gave birth to her first son, Patrick. She continued to work for LOGTEC until 1997 when she gave birth to her first daughter, Maureen. As a new stay at home mom, she joined the Moms and Tots group at St. Luke Church and met many other wonderful moms and families. She continued to fill her family with love by giving birth to son Michael in 1999 and daughter Kate in 2001. She often told Tom he was lucky he didn't meet her when she was in her 20s, else he would be supporting a dozen children.

Peggy loved people, mainly children. She devoted herself to serving others and it showed in her volunteer work. Leading two Girl Scout troops, cooking food for the St. Vincent dePaul Society and organizing meals for families of other women who were unable to do so are just a few of the ways she touched the lives of others.

She was a devoted Catholic. And a Buckeyes fan. She made sure that her children knew how to pray the rosary and how to sing "Fight the team across the field" at an early age. She accomplished a life-long dream in November of 2012 when she and two of her sisters attended the Ohio State - _ichigan game and she witnessed another victory by the Ohio State Buckeyes.

She was taken to Heaven too soon and will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
