Margaret Ann Swan

September 4, 1941 — May 14, 2021

Margaret Ann Swan, age 79, was ushered into the presence of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ unexpectedly at home the morning of May 14th, 2021. She was born September 4th, 1941 in Wisconsin to the late Delos and Edith Smith.

She married the love of her life, James Swan, on June 22nd, 1963 who preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Donald Koontz, twin grandsons Brendan and Tad Swan and her cat, Rascal.

Margaret spent her early adult life being a nurse's aide in Madison, Wisconsin. Later on in her life those in Old North Dayton knew her from working at Arlo's Pizza. Margaret then spent her final years of working and retired from Kroger's bakery where she enjoyed always handing out sweet treats to the children who frequented the store. Margaret was a social butterfly who loved spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed being a member of Salem Church of God and their Women 2 Women Life Group as well as Trailblazers. She deeply adored her church family. She spent time being a part of the Huber Heights Senior Center, where she always looked forward to gatherings and events with other fellow members. Since the 1980s, Margaret was a dedicated and valued choir member of the Eintracht Singing Society, where she helped with the fish fries and numerous dinners and events. Anytime Margaret spent with family was when she was at her happiest. She also loved scenic car rides and vacations (especially if the vacation was spent visiting Wisconsin!) You could always bet that Margaret was cheering on the Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packers.

Margaret is survived by her children, Julie Swan of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Brenda (David) Klawon of Dayton, Mary Swan of Vandalia, and her son Aron (Angie) Swan of New Lebanon. She is also survived by her Grandchildren, who were the ultimate apples of her eye and were immensely proud of them all; Rebecca (Jonathan) Cook, Morgan (Justin) Nickoson, Ramsey McCarthy, Brittney Swan, Anastasia Swan, and Jackson Swan, James Swan, Anaya Hudnall, Griffin Hudnall, and Kaitlyn, Aydin and Lyla Thelen. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren, her ultimate joy, Lacie and Leo Cook, Karlie Nickoson, Amara Snow, Ezra Swan and Declan Hatmaker. Her beloved sisters, Elaine (Howard) Jones of Loveland, Colorado and Mary Lee Smith of Texas. Lastly is survived by her close friends, Rose Nolf, Carrie Hester and Peggy Howard. All of these she loved so very much. Special thanks to her aide, Tonya Hall who she loved deeply. Thanks for taking such great care of our Mom.
