Margaret "Ann" Slate

Margaret "Ann" Slate, age 81 of Vandalia, Ohio went to be with the Lord, with her family by her side on September 9, 2024. She was born March 26, 1943 in Washington County, Virginia, daughter of the late Bradley Kirk and Nellie Cassidy.

Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a great cook and loved her dog, Rocky. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, being outside, puzzles, and coloring. She was a caregiver for over 30 years. She will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. 

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 50 plus years, Donald Slate; son, Brian Slate; and great grandson, Braiden Gibson.

Ann is survived by her children, Pamela Gibson, Mark Slate Sr., Jeff Slate, Donnie Slate, and Scott Slate; grandchildren, Jason, Amber, Jacob, Mark Jr., Jessica (Robert), Brandy, Tiffany (Mark), and Gabby; great grandchildren, Damian, Shaylee, Kendra, Bryan, and Parker; sister, Sue (Randy) Singleton; nieces, Susan and Stephanie; as well as numerous other family members and friends. 

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 12pm-1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park.
