Margaret Patricia Denker

November 4, 1929 — November 28, 2014

Margaret Patricia Denker, 85, of Cincinnati, died peacefully Nov. 28 surrounded by her loving family.

Patricia was the oldest of four children of Faith and Dan Seibold, who raised her on a farm in Papillion, Nebraska, that has been in the family since 1894.

Pat graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1951 with a degree in home economics. She was a devoted, caring mother to her three children, volunteering as a Cub Scout and Camp Fire Girls leader and Sunday school teacher. She was a gifted cook who instilled the same passion in her daughter Jane. While living in Brussels, Belgium, she commuted to Paris to attend the famed La Varenne Cooking School.

The Nebraska farm girl grew up to become a world traveler and a travel agent. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family and many close friends. She was a doting grandmother to her seven grandchildren and enjoyed taking them on adventures big and small. She also found time for many civic activities including serving on the boards of the Kenwood Woman's Club and Kenwood Garden Club and being a member of the PEO at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

A memorial service, followed by a luncheon, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the church at 8221 Miami Rd. in Madeira.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Kathryn Seibold, and brother Danny Seibold. She is survived by her son Gordon (Marianne) Denker Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter Dr. Jane (Terry) Lynch of Columbus, NC; son Jim Denker and his wife Mary McCarty of Kettering, OH; sister Becky (Jim) Crofoot of Papillion, NE; grandchildren Christine Anne Denker and her husband David Bickley of Seattle, WA; Megan Lynch and her fiancé David Lambert of Charlotte, NC; Kate (Preston) Welch of Baton Rouge; Dr. Traci DeVoe and her husband Dr. Bill DeVoe of Columbus, OH; Alec, Veronica and NiNi Denker of Kettering; and great-granddaughters Mia and Lorelei Welch of Baton Rouge.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church.
