Margaret Leanora Francine Cappadoro-Olson (AKA Peggy)
"Peggy" was born on Staten Island, New York on July 2nd, 1940. Peggy attended St John's Villa Academy for elementary and high school until graduating in 1958. Peggy worked as a Nurse's Aide while attending High School to help support her family while her father was out of work. Peggy is the oldest of three female children. The second of these three children, Leanora Cappadoro, preceded Peggy in death on 04-13-2016 from cancer at 74 years of age, and the youngest child, Carol Cappadoro-Smith resides in Greenville, South Carolina, along with her son, Christopher Smith with his wife, Ilessa, and their son, Carter, also in Greenville, South Carolina.
Peggy has two sons: Jon Andrew Olson, who lives in Greenville, South Carolina, and Jeffrey Scott Olson who resides with his wife Rosa in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York.
At the time of her passing, Peggy had three grandchildren: Bethanne, (Jon's daughter born in 1990) who resides in Lexington, KY, and Giuseppe Olson and Valentina Olson (children from Jeff and Rosa) who live with their parents in Glen Cove, New York.
Peggy coached and managed teams for the girls' softball league at West Shore Little League on Staten Island for many years with her life-long, devoted friend, Maria Triolo. Peggy was also president for the Parent's/Teacher's Association (PTA) for her sons' schools for several years.
Peggy worked many clerical professions until she became enamored of working with troubled teenage girls for the New York State Division for Youth, and then to becoming a House Mother for more troubled teenage girls in Queens, New York.
Peggy and family moved to Troy, Ohio in 1981. Peggy soon became a manager for the then Sohio Oil Company, now known as BP Oil. Peggy retired soon after due to failing health. Peggy devoted the remainder of her life to her family, and her many friends. Peggy loved all of her family and friends, and they all loved her.
Peggy left a legacy of kindness, love, and compassion for everyone she met. Once meeting Peggy, no one could forget her infectious laugh and quick wit.
Peggy passed away peacefully at Bethany Village Nursing Home on May 1st, 2023 at the age of 82 years old. Peggy wished to be cremated without a viewing. Funeral mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 4500 Ackerman Blvd, Kettering, Ohio 45429 on Thursday June 1st, 2023. Visitation is scheduled for 09:30 to 10:30, with Memorial Mass scheduled to begin at 10:30.
