Margaret J. Mescher

Margaret J. Mescher, age 89 of Kettering, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 peacefully at her home. She was born December 24, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alois and Alice Kinder.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Carl J. Mescher Sr.; siblings, Mary Martha (Orville) Curp, Irene (John) Rissinger, Louise (Walter) Search, Theresa (Kenneth) Bole, Joseph Kinder, and Marcella Kipling; and son-in-law, Robert "Kim" Draughn.

Margaret is survived by her children, Susan Draughn, Joyce (Tim) Luehrs, Carl Mescher, Jr., Lawrence "Larry" Mescher, Mary Ellen (Jeff) Ballman, David (Cathy) Mescher, Alan Mescher, Laura (David) Bramlish, Julie (Duane) Triplett; 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Kinder; brother-in-law, Alfred "Bud" Kipling; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was an avid gardener and loved golfing with her late husband, Carl. They both enjoyed traveling and camping with their children. She was an exceptionally loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (2300 Smithville Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45420). A private family burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery's St. Kateri Preserve.
