Margaret "Cricket" Mefford, age 77, of Dayton, passed away on July 17, 2019. Cricket was born on May 6, 1942, in Lima, OH. She was the daughter of Harry and Marguerite (McElroy) Williams. For over 30 years, Cricket worked as a production manager for Skelton Sports in Dayton before retiring in 2000.
Cricket leaves a family legacy consisting of her loving children, daughter, Melissa (husband Patrick) Kowalski of Dayton, OH; son, Steven Cupp of Knoxville, TN; step-sons, Michael Mefford of Cincinnati, OH, Brett (Tyra) Mefford of Dayton,OH; brothers, Tom (wife Jean), Jack and Neil (Keitha) Williams all of Ada, OH; sisters, Robin (husband Mike) Romick of Bluffton, OH, and Linda Cheney of Ada, OH; granddaughters, McKenzie Corrie (Tony) Gabriel of Cookeville, TN, Ashley Cupp of Knoxville, TN, Katelin Kowalski of Kettering, OH and Brittany Mefford of Dayton, OH; grandsons, Michael Kowalski of Columbus, OH, Austin Mefford of Dayton, OH and Matt Mefford of Dayton, OH; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Savannah Gabriel, Brayden, Hunter, Landon and Alexa Cupp and Abby Silcox. Cricket also leaves behind several loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Along with her parents, Cricket was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Mefford; sister, Pat Williams and brother, Bill Williams.
A memorial service will be held in Cricket's honor on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at 1:00 pm at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Centerville Chapel, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, 45459.
