Lakes, Margaret Ann "Peggy", age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Peggy was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio to the late Albert and Thelma Hecht (nee Gibson).
Peggy was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Hecht.
Peggy leaves to cherish her loving children, Cathy (Larry) Manchester and Mark (Diane) Lakes; four grandchildren, Phillip (Jessica) Scheidweiler, Jennifer (Roth) Huston, Kyle Lakes and Kevin Lakes; five great-grandchildren, Owen, Ryan, Jaxon, Reagan, and Elise; sister, Barbara (Kenny) Zartman; and host of other family member and friends.
Peggy lived her life sharing love, laughter and warmth with everyone she knew. She retired from Children's Hospital at 65. Once retired she spent her time with her family and friends. She joined Aley United Methodist Church in 2004, where she remained faithful member and was very active at the Senior Center playing corn hole and euchre. Peggy volunteered on a mission trip to Ecuador to help those in need and at Hospice of Dayton. She loved praying for others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. Peggy was a loving and caring person, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, always thinking of others first. "To know her was to love her."
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Peggy to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45420 or SPCA Shelter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.
Peggy will laid to rest at Heritage Hill Memory Gardens, 7370 OH-48, Springboro, OH 45066.
