Margaret Hammond

HAMMOND, Margaret "Marge" age 77 passed away October 10, 2011. She was born November 6, 1933 to the late G. Robert "Shakey" and Dorothea Weidner Groves.

She is preceded in death by the father of her children, William Hammond and sister, Rose Angela "Peggy" Wilson.

She is survived by children, Pat (Jerry) Sanders, Robert "Bob" (Portia) Hammond, Jerry (Chris Jones) Hammond, Dan (Teresa) Hammond, and Angie (John Roberts) Hammond; sister, Dorothy Jones of North Carolina; grandchildren, Tammy, Jerilyn, Michelle, Bobby, Jennie, Stacey, Amanda, Lindsay, Jeremy, Matt, Brian, Stacey, Danielle, and Tessa; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marge graduated from Miamisburg High School class of 1951 and worked for Avon for many years and retired from Super Valu. She was also a president, past president, and vice president, of the Eagles Auxiliary 1689 in Xenia and was an avid sports fan.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home – Beavercreek, 3380 Dayton-Xenia RD. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, October 14, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
