Margaret G. Martin, age 86, passed away on March 22, 2015 in Dayton, Ohio. She was born to the late Martin and Grace Gately on July 24, 1928 in New York City, New York. Margaret had a BA and MA in Education from Hunter College. She taught elementary school in New York City and Jamestown, New York for 33 years. Margaret had three nominations from former students for Who's Who Among American Teachers. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the International Honorary Society of Women Educators. Margaret was voted Woman of the Year Jamestown, New York. She was an active member of the Spring Valley Senior Center. She visited seven European Countries and Japan. Margaret was a lifelong faithful Catholic. She is survived by her sons Paul (Barbara) Martin, Patrick (Marianela) Martin; seven grandchildren Jayne, Jack, Stephanie, Peter, Sam, Mia, Kenny and sibling Sister Grace Gately. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; son Thomas Martin and bother William Gately. A memorial gathering will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Church 4500 Ackerman Blvd. Kettering, Ohio on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 9:30am-10:30am with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30am.
