Margaret Eleanor Dinwiddie, Age 94 passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011.
Born in Dayton, OH April 2, 1917 to the late Eleanor (Peaso) and Alfred Lape. Married Walter "Bud" Dinwiddie in 1942. She worked at Delco until her husbands return, end of WWII. Member of the United Methodist Church, Sunday school teacher. Life member of VFW Post 2800 Ladies Auxiliary serving as President and Chaplin, volunteer at VA Hospital and a member of Eastern Star.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, daughter, Gloria Jean (still born); step-father, Ervin Sponsel; and brother-in-law, Charles Sherman. Survived by her daughters, Joyce (Bruce) Bursten and Dianne (Bill) Roth; grandsons; Eric (Jennifer Williams) Gildow and Christopher (Julie) Bursten; sister, Audrey Sherman; nieces, Barbara (Bill) Caulk, Judy (Tom) Taylor; and loving friend, Greta Lomas.
Margaret devoted her life to her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to The American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 6-7pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). A memorial service will follow at 7pm.
