Margaret Effinger

Margaret E. Effinger, age 100 of Kettering, passed away January 5, 2015. She was born August 29, 1914 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Carl and Hedvig Swanson. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Effinger; son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Dolores Effinger; and several brothers and sisters.

Margaret is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: James and Betty Effinger; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Swanson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Margaret retired from Lazarus after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of David's Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a generous and loving lady who touched the lives of all she met.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 pm. Burial to follow at David's Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
