Margaret E. Weems

WEEMS, Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth age 88 went home to be with the Lord, Sunday July 9, 2006. She was born in Vardaman, MS June 10, 1918. She moved to Dayton in the early 1950's. She was lovingly known as "Monk" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Jim and Mattie Belle Armstrong, Her loving and devoted husband Samuel C. Weems, and both children Abraham Liggins and Jim Brown, two brothers Ollie Robinson, Vollie Robinson, three sisters, Etta Gaston, Mae Sheffield, and Mrs. Johnnie Mae Hayes. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her loving sister, Mrs. Jimmie Lee Cooper. Seven grandchildren: Brent Kirk Lewis of San Antonio,TX, Maurice (Debbie) Liggins of Canton, OH, Debra (Sanford) Whitlow, Rahneia Shafeek of Charlotte, NC, Kimberly Liggins, Karla Scott, Timothy (Jackie) Liggins. She also leaves behind ten great grandchildren Jason (Angie) Jordan, Andre Williams, Eric Phillips, Ashley Willis, Rhine Phillips, Kimberly Williams, Azziza Shafeek-Hayes, Erica Gamblin, McKenzie Lewis, Bria Scott, Timothy Liggins II, and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was always willing and able to help anyone in need. The family would like to especially thank the nursing staff at Carriage Inn Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
