CUMMINGS, Margaret L. Bryant White "Aunt Maggie", of Dayton lost her courageous battle to live and passed away peacefully on Lincoln's birthday, Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Miami Valley Hospital. Aunt Maggie was born on March 29, 1918 in Smiths Grove, Kentucky to loving parents William "Bill" Bryant and Lilly Miller Bryant. Orphaned at the tender age of 11, she and her five siblings endured difficult times growing up. Her conscientious efforts to maintain family ties and help others were the hallmark and crowning glory of her remarkable life. She was preceded in death by her husband and father of their three children Charles David "CD" White; all three children Naomi "Tootsie" White Sparks, Charles David "Bud" White, and Stephen George White; husband, loyal friend, and companion of over 40 years, Noel Cummings; siblings Jenny Bryant Massey, Mildred Bryant Hazzard, George Bryant, Randall Bryant, and Charlie Ray Bryant. Margaret leaves to mourn her "second family" the Mildred Bryant Hazzard Family: Kenny, Frankie, and Terry Hazzard, and Cathy Hazzard Christopher; daughter-in-law Carol White of Monticello, KY and special step-granddaughter Linda (Gus) Thompson of Blanchester, OH, as well as extended family of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family and friends closest to her wish to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the wonderful care-giving staffs at Miami Valley Hospital, Hospice of Dayton, Sanctuary Nursing Home, and Miami Valley Senior Day Care Center for their generous help and support. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Monday, February 18, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM Monday prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
