Marcella P. Pottenger

POTTENGER, Marcella P., age 74, passed away Friday, September 11, 2009 from a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha Mae and Kenneth Deeter. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ed Pottenger; children, Carole Sue (Randy) Vaught, Kathy (Donald Pratt) Pottenger, and John Pottenger; sister, Juanita (Bill) Reynolds; grandchildren, Teresa, Brian, and Becki; 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, Conover Bingo friends, and life-long friends of the NCR Camping Club. Marcella was a Girl Scout leader, enjoyed quilting, was a devoted wife and mother, and was a friend to all she met. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Dayton.
