MCKITRICK, Mara Lynn

Age 66, of Beavercreek, OH; passed from this world on Friday, September 13th, 2013 with love.

From August 1997 until February 2012, she was the co-owner and operator, with her husband, of the Celtic Isles Shop.

Mara's greatest love was her family and was devoted to her roles of wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She grew up in Belpre, OH where she married her husband, Mike, of 46 years. As an Air Force wife for 17 years, Mara traveled with her husband and lived in several states and England. She loved to travel and immensely liked business and pleasure trips to Ireland and the UK.

As a member of the Miami Valley Triumphs Club she always enjoyed car club events travelling with friends.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Deren of Union, Melissa of Beavercreek, and David of Beavercreek; grandchildren, Delaney, Brogan, Tiernan, Sean, Miley, and Lachlan; sister, Barbara (Smith) Gainer of Belpre, OH; brothers, Robert Smith of Leesburg, FL and James (Russ) Smith of Williamstown, WV; sister-in-law, Doris Smith of Cross Lanes, WV, plus many nephews and nieces in OH, WV, FL, and TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Hoyt and Anna Ruth (Evans) Smith, as well as her brother, Ronald Smith.

Mara will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of service, with Reverend Ruth Paulus officiating. Disposition will be by cremation.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful doctors and staff of the Oncology, Urology, and the MIU departments at the Wright-Patterson AFB Medical Center and the doctors, home care nurses, and staff of Hospice of Dayton. The dedication and caring of both organizations helped ease the burden during a very difficult time.

The family requests donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to Hospice of Dayton.
