Manning Joseph Hartshorn, age 42 of Springfield, OH, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home. He was born September 19, 1975 in Elwood, Indiana to the late Herman Hartshorn and Rita (Pemberton) Talcott.
Manning worked in Material Management for P&G as a forklift operator. Growing up in Southern California gave him a love of dance and song. Always the life of the party, he loved to socialize with everyone, never knowing a stranger. Manning enjoyed tinkering with electronics, especially older items to make them new again for his family and friends. He enjoyed "day trips" to lakes and rivers with his partner Leroy. Manning had a special place in his heart for his cats and enjoyed growing and gifting plants to his family and friends. He would do anything for his family and friends, who he loved dearly and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Manning is survived by his mother Rita (James), a sister, Kimberly Dawn (Scott) Smith; a brother, Raymond Boyd Hartshorn; his partner of 14 years, Garry Leroy Stone; three nephews, Bill, Randy and Scotty; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Pemberton; numerous aunts and uncles; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandfather, Raymond Pemberton; and paternal grandparents, Robert and June Hartshorn.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on May 4, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
