Maisie L. Owens-Upton
October 9, 1929 — October 25, 2023
Maisie L. Owens-Upton, age 94, of Dayton, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
Maisie was born in Berwind, West Virginia to the late Whitten M. & Hannah Asbury.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Olen Owens; second husband, Oliver Upton; daughters, Jeanne Denney and Judy Beeler; grandson, Michael Denney; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.
Maisie is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Steve) Hupp and Jennifer (Greg) Lowe; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby (Ronnie) Larison; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends that loved her.
Maisie proudly worked for Gershaws Grocery Store, that started her career in 1951 and ended her career with Kroger in 1985. She came to know the Lord in 1957, and continued her devotion to the Lord her entire life. This same devotion was passed along to her children and grandchildren. She has gone before us to find the perfect place in Heaven for us to be with her again. Maisie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 12:30-1:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 1:30pm.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton and Our Home Assisted Living for the wonderful care they gave Maisie.
Maisie will be laid to rest next to her husband, Olen at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
