Mahlon O. Walsh, age 80 of Centerville, passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2022. He was born on October 27, 1941 in Cleveland, OH to the late George and Mollie (Ogden) Walsh. In addition to his parents, Mahlon was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ian D. Campbell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol K. Walsh; children, Don O. Walsh and Elizabeth W. (Michael) Cotton; grandchildren, Cathleen Cotton and Christopher Cotton; siblings, George (Barbara) Walsh and Sue Campbell; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Mahlon proudly served in the US Coast Guard where he flew search and rescue missions. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of the Pterodactyl. He worked as an IT Project Manager and retired from NCR Corporation.
Mahlon led a wonderful life, loved his family and friends and adored his grandchildren. He was a master chef and loved music, especially jazz. He shared a passion for lighthouses with his son Don. Mahlon enjoyed sharing grand stories about his many life adventures. He always had kind words for others and insisted on hugs from everyone. He will be greatly missed by all.
A Celebration of Mahlon's Life will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home- Centerville Chapel located at 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd, where a small military tribute will occur at 5pm.
He will be laid to rest at Mount Holly Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Mahlon's honor.
