Ozie Kearns "Booboo", 92, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Dayspring Healthcare and Rehab. She was born on April 26, 1928 to the late William C. and Edith M. (Rankins) Maxwell. On December 18, 1945 she married Howard W. Kearns who preceded her in death on January 12, 1989.
Ozie is survived by children, Jean (Chris) Whitaker and Carl (Joetta) Kearns; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jesse) Davis, Charlotte (Edward) Kearns, Karen Kearns, Janet Kearns, Alicia Kearns, Trisha Kearns; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kolby, Angel, Renee, Sonya, Jamie, Barbie, Julie, and many more; beloved cat, Ella. She was preceded in death by sons, Larry and Kenny Kearns; great-grandchildren, Little Kenny and Willow; and siblings, Leonard Maxwell, Estel Maxwell, Bobby Maxwell, Shirley Gaver, and Lilian Hanger.
Ozie was an avid gardener and loved flowers. She enjoyed playing BINGO at the nursing home. She absolutely loved when her family visited her in the nursing home. Ozie was a complete social butterfly and spent many days cruising around Dayspring talking with anyone and everyone.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel.
The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face mask will be worn in all public places.
