Whittington, Mae, age 98, passed away at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Breathitt County, KY on October 9, 1914 to Joe & Minnie (Young) Morris.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Donald Lee Whittington, and most recently, her only child, Shirley Mae Henry. She is also preceded in death by her siblings: James Morris of Jamestown, Ohio, Wilton, Delmar, Curt, Melvin, and Crit Morris all of Walled Lake, Michigan, Effie Spencer of Breathitt County, KY, Willie and Clyde Morris of Michigan, and Cora Childers of Ortonville, Michigan.
Mae was a long standing employee of Hicks & Wicklines Greenhouse, in Xenia. She loved working in the yard, and being surrounded by her family.
Mae is survived by her grandchildren: Donna (& George) Dowling, Wallace M. (& Cindy) Henry II, Dianna (& Mark) Cordle. Great-grandchildren: Marci (& Rusty) Kaemmerer, Megan (& Nick) Tyler, Molly (& Steve) Fennell, Cody Henry, Connor Henry, Mallory (& Zach) Carnes. She is also blessed with great-great-grandchildren: Grace Tyler, Hudson Tyler, Wyatt Kaemmerer, and Gage Fennell.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, OH.
If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Dayton.
