Mae Louise Asbury

January 5, 1938 — June 13, 2024

Beavercreek

Mae Louise Asbury, 86, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on June 13th, 2024, in Beavercreek, Ohio. Louise was the loving mother of Allan (Susan) Asbury, Jamie (Mark) McVey, Connie (Richard) Burns, Jerry (Belinda) Asbury Sr., Tim (Melody) Maples, and Amanda Maples. She was the cherished Mamaw of Christopher Rayburn, Emily (Tanner) Huhn, Braden Asbury, Courtney Breeding, Mike (Margo) Salmons, Natosha (Chris) Reno, Alysha Maurer, Brandi (Kurtis) Burcham, Ritchie (Samantha) Burns, Jerry (Jeanette) Asbury Jr., Jenna (Jordin) Kear, Aubrey Asbury, Hannah Asbury, Ashley Landis, Kaylee Maples, Ashley Maples, Louden Maples, Drew Maples, Aliviya (Jordan) Ferguson, and Jadyn Gumm. She was the adored sister of Carol Hartman and Larry (Brenda) Cusick. Louise is also survived by her dear "adopted" daughter, Terrilynn Vaughn, and 29 great-grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by: her parents, Hugh and Bessie Cusick; her loving aunt Louise (nicknamed "Dooley") and Gerald Buckley; siblings Eva Horne, Robert Cusick, and Clyde Cusick; her grandson, Aaron J. Breeding; and her husband, James E. Asbury.

Louise was born on January 5th, 1938 in LaFollette, Tennessee. She graduated from LaFollette High School in 1956. She worked as a medical transcriber for Miami Valley Hospital until starting her own transcribing business, Transcript Services. Despite her love for her work, her true calling began in November of 1958, the day she became a mother.

Louise’s life is a tapestry of kindness, integrity, compassion, and love. Louise was a dedicated and founding member of Agape Family Worship Center for 36 years. She loved her church family as if they were her own. Her love for the Lord has been passed down through her to all of her children and grandchildren. Some of her proudest and most heartfelt memories were made worshipping God with her family.

Louise had a passion for life unmatched by anyone. She loved to cook. She loved to read. She loved to watch her grandchildren hunt Easter eggs. She loved to sing Christmas carols, watch Fox News, and cheer on the University of Dayton during basketball season. However, even if Dayton didn’t make it, she lived for March Madness! If you spent one game night at her house, whether UNO, Poker, or Clue, you would meet a woman full of wit, humor, and strategy (and a bit of a sore loser). Louise spoiled her children and grandchildren, and in return, she was spoiled right back. Louise loved to love.

Louise never met a stranger, and if you had a need, she would not rest until it was met. She gave until she had nothing left to give, and then somehow, she found more. No matter when, no matter where, she was always there. Above everything else, her love for her family knew no bounds. She loved each and every one with her entire heart and soul. Her absence will be felt in every room, every minute, of every day, but each passing day will be one day closer to seeing her again.

Louise’s family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of DaVita Wright Field Dialysis Center, Heartland Hospice, and Soin Medical Center for caring for the most prized member of our family.

Public visitation will be held at Agape Family Worship Center (4111 Maple View Dr. Beavercreek, Ohio 45432) on Friday June 21st, 2024 at 10:00 am, with the funeral service following at 11:00 am.
