Madeleine G. Annis went to her heavenly home to be with her cherished Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, passing peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, October 16, 2022. She was 72 years old. Madeleine had been failing in health for several years and her passing was a blessing. Madeleine was preceded in death by her beloved father John H. Annis, and her beloved mother Madeleine M. Annis. She is survived by her five siblings; Sally L. Hudson, Karen K. Inman, John D. Annis, Connie A. Eckert, and her twin brother Michael G. Annis. She is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews, and thirty grand nieces and nephews.
Madeleine was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1950 sharing the event with her twin brother Michael and being the first born. She, Michael and her sister Connie who was only 16 months older were the "little ones" in the family of six children. Madeleine and her younger siblings had a common circle of friends in the neighborhood where every Saturday and summer days were filled with made up games and trips to Princeton Park. In the circle of friends, Madeleine developed a best friend relationship with Margaret (Miller) Westendorf lasting her entire life. Their friendship was an important part of Madeleine's life and the family thanks Margaret for her love and support of Madeleine.
Madeleine attended Jefferson Elementary School and Colonel White High School graduating in 1968. After high school she served in the Air Force. She worked as a dental assistant for most of her working career. She had an immense love of animals, especially dogs and cats and had a pet Nanny business. She had two beloved Labrador retrievers, Cricket and Sunny who were wonderful companions. And, she had several cats that gave her much joy.
Madeleine had a strong faith in God, her heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ, giving her comfort throughout her life. She was a great witness of her faith to many people and developed a very outgoing and friendly personality. She always had a smile and a good word to say to everyone she met. Madeleine also developed a strong friendship with her roommate, Debbie Schneider while she lived at Riverside Healthcare in her later years.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Riverside Healthcare for the almost five years of loving care and concern for Madeleine. And the family would like to thank Dayton Hospice Center for their loving care and concern for Madeleine in her last days.
