Macy "Sue" Douglas, age 83, went home to be with her Lord on July 7, 2020.
She was born June 28, 1937 in Middlesboro, KY to the late Clarence and Sara (Redmon) Sampson, one of seven children. She moved to the Dayton, Ohio area as a teen and met the love of her life, Paul L. Douglas. They married when Sue was 22 and shared 44 happily married years together. They were both longtime members of Franklin Baptist Church where she was active in the choir and Ladies' activities and Paul served as a Deacon.
Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul, her parents, Clarence and Sara Sampson, and her 6 siblings, Helen, Gladys, James, Ida, Ballard, and Charlie.
She is survived by her 1 son, Christopher Douglas; 4 grandchildren including her beloved granddaughters, Brittany (Michael) Striebel, Ashley Davis; 5 great grandchildren, Jordin, Evan, Maddox, Beckett and Collins; her very special niece, Teresa "Sissy" Hawkins, along with many other nieces and nephews.
Sue loved the Lord, her family and was extremely dedicated to both, especially her granddaughter, Brittany whom she raised from an infant as her own child. She was known for her stern but soft disposition and her tender and giving heart. She loved to cook, go shopping and always took pride in her appearance. Sue will be greatly missed for her sense of humor, her smile, her strength, and her wisdom.
Your memories will be forever cherished in our hearts, "Mamaw Honey". Hug Papaw tight for us!
Thank you both for always loving us so selflessly.
