M. Elaine (Bettinger) Mason

M. Elaine Mason (nee Bettinger), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, age 90, of Riverside, passed away January 28, 2019, at her home surrounded by her sons and daughter.

She was born January 14, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Raymond and Mary Catherine Bettinger. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. Elaine was strong willed and extremely loving to all who knew her. She married Robert E. Mason on July 2, 1948 in Dayton, and together they had 5 children.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, 2 children, Melodey and Mitchell, and 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Elaine was the proud Matriarch of 5 generations, and is survived by her 3 children, Mary Dunford, Michael Mason, Mark (Debbie) Mason; 30 plus grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Raymond Bettinger, Charles(Pat) Bettinger, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 9:00 am until time of service at 10:30 am at Newcomer, North Chapel 4104 Needmore Rd. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
