He is survived by his children, Glen (Patti Ruse) Snyder, Tara (John) Whitehouse & Victoria Snyder- Mueller; grandchildren, Derek (Julie ) Oppenhagen, Lene` Whitehouse, Maxwel (Samantha) Snyder, Marek Snyder, Alesa Mueller, Morgan (Bill) Wisvader, Kailen Mueller & Corey Gould; great grandchildren, Savannah, Odin & Zeus Snyder and Billy & Scarlet Wisvader; sister, Virginia (Dave) Cullen; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Snyder & Jane Snyder; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Richard was first and foremost a Christian. He loved God and without a doubt is with Him now rejoicing with his family and friends that went on before him.
He was a beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was an artist, loved poetry, was a teacher, builder, mechanic, and gardener and he never met a stranger.
Richard had many jobs over the years including manager of his family's trucking company, mail carrier for the US Postal Service, Real Estate Agent and Handyman. But his passion was his family and friends. He spent his retirement years working part time in hardware or auto parts stores not only because he enjoyed those industries but because he was such a social person. He thrived in social interaction and always was one to keep in touch with family and friends which leads to one of his great passions, the family historian. Primarily during his retirement years Richard created and maintained an extensive database of the Snyder Family Tree of which he took great pride.
He lived a full life and his life on this earth ended in peace. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed though for those who believe we know we will see him again one day.
"Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely." (1 Corinthians 13:12 NLT)
