Luverna Collins

COLLINS, Luverna, age 88, passed away in Hospice of Defiance, OH May 6, 2008. She was born in Breathitt Co. KY. in 1919 to Elijah and Carrie (Back) Clemons. Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Max Collins in 1999; and son, Thomas L. Collins in 1973. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey L. Collins and his wife Norma; grandsons, Jeffrey M. of Columbus and Brian T. of Dayton; sister, Elsie Blanton and husband Aaron; sister-in-law, Lucille Clemons of Monroe, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and attended the North Riverdale Brethren Church. The family will receive friends from 5-7P.M. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Funeral services will follow at 7P.M. Burial will be held 10A.M. Monday, May 12, 2008 at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, OH.
