Luther M. Burks

Luther Burks, age 83, of Clayton Ohio passed away November 13, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born September 18, 1936 in Caliborne County, Mississippi to the late Elmury Burks and Beatrice Coleman.

Luther was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an avid bowler, cook, and loved playing cards. He was loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lorenzo Burks, Thomas and Ronald Coleman; sister, Laura Liggins.

Luther is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirletta Burks; children, Reggie and Reigan Burks, and Angela (Larry) Jones; grandchildren, Jordan Maddox and Christian Davis; sisters, Irene Crenshaw, Beatrice Coleman, and Joann Burks; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family will receive friends on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church (5301 Free Pike, Dayton Ohio 45426). Service will begin at 1:00 pm.
