Luerean Houston, 93 years of age, of Dayton, passed away October 12, 2015. She was born in Homer, Louisiana, the daughter of Frank and Irine Nelms. Luerean was a mother of Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ for many years. Mother Houston loved everyone and dedicated her life to God at an early age. Mother Houston always had a smile on her face regardless of her declining health. Mother Houston was a true example of a Christian and she will truly be missed and will always be loved by her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Robert Curry; 2nd husband, Sampson Watters; 3rd husband, Herbert Houston; sons, Joseph Watters, David Curry; step sons, Lonnie Houston, Lloyd Houston; sisters, Margie Boyce, Gussie Glenn; nephew, Ronnie Nelms; great nephew, Jamon Morrow; step nephews, Bobby Elam, Barry Elam; and step nieces, Minnie Houston, Myra Houston.
She is survived by her son, Henry Curry; devoted daughter, Deborah Watters; sisters, Inell Wheeler, Bernice Amos, Margie Norton, Cumerdis Looney; step sons, Samuel (Mabel) Watters, Leonard Houston, Larry Houston, Lamon Houston, Lestlie Houston; step daughters, Luvenia (Rev. Lonnie) Waites, Rev. Martha (Rev. Andrew) Hargrove, Glenda Phillips, Shirley (Ronnie) Hollards; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and several other relatives and special friends.
Family and friends may call on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 10:00 am-11:00 am at Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ, 548 Anna Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402 where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am with Pastor Carl Norton officiating. Burial will follow at West Memory Garden. Food will be served to the family and friends following the graveside service.
