Lucy-Jane Tilk
December 16, 1923 — August 11, 2012
TILK, Lucy Jane age 88 passed away August 11, 2012. She was born in Dayton, OH December 16, 1923 to the late, Harley and Alta Parker. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles James Brown; second husband, William J. Tilk; and step-son, Anthony J. Tilk.
She is survived her 3 daughters, Frances (Robert) Stoner, Rose Anne (David) Green, and Norma J. Yeazell (Scott Griffin); step-sons, William L. Tilk, Timothy (Nancy) Tilk, and Jack (Cindy) Tilk; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lucy was a member of Higher Ground United Methodist Church formally Troy Street United Methodist Church where she was choir director for 20 years. She retired from the Dayton Public Library; she worked at the Belmont and Kettering branches. Lucy was also a former member of Betta Signa Phi Sorority and the Chillicothe Riding Club.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 11:00 am at Higher Ground United Methodist Church, 4800 N. Dixie Dr. Interment to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – North, 4104 Needmore Rd.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton.
