Lucille Franklin

Lucille Franklin, age 78, of Dayton, passed away December 15, 2023. She was born August 6, 1945 in Fort Deposit, Alabama to the late Rev. Floyd and Carrie Smith. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her brothers: Joe Smith and Rev. Fletcher Smith; and sisters: Elizabeth Underwood and Ruth Bell.

Lucille is survived by her children: Preanell Mitchell (Sarano), Derrick Smith and Eddie Franklin; grandchildren: Lamarr, Ashley, Justin and Jarezz; many great-grandchildren; sisters: Edna Chamblin, Carmella Nichols and Mary Ann Smith; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:30-2:00 pm on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm.
