Donald F. Tandy, (Ret. LTC USA), age 86 of Beavercreek, OH passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018. He was born June 20, 1931 in Los Angeles, California to the late Colonel Frank and Ida (Golson) Tandy. Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Louise; and brother in law, Allen Keegan. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Anna Marie (Cianciosi); children, Donald F. (Tracy) Tandy Jr., Anna M. (Tod) Gregory and Kenneth T. (Deb) Tandy; the joys of is life, his grandchildren, Don Anthony and Hilary Tandy, Chad, Collin and Chase Gregory and Isabella and Jenson Tandy; and other family and friends.
Don graduated from high school in Berlin, Germany, from the University of Oklahoma with an Architectural Engineering Degree, fromTexas A & M with a Civil Engineering Degree and from Penn State with a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. He spent over 20 years with the Army Corps of Engineers. Don proudly served his country in the US Army where he was an Army Ranger, earning his Paratrooper Wings. He served tours in Germany, France and two tours in Vietnam. Don worked as a civilian at WPAFB as an engineer with the Egyptian Program.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on May 20, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funeral and Receptions, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432. A Memorial Service will follow the gathering at the funeral home at 4:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
