Lt. Col. Alvin H. Bruder, age 91 of Beavercreek, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 13, 2021. He was born February 1, 1930 in Rogers City, Michigan the son of Oswald and Wilhema Bruder.
Alvin graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Police Administration. While at Michigan State he was a member of the Navy ROTC. He later proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, as a Lieutenant Colonel and Fighter Pilot in Vietnam. He also served at Tyndall Air Force Base training in radar, Charleston Air Force Base, Ernest Harman Air Force Base and Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Michigan. He went to California for training in the F-4 phantom, preparing for Vietnam. From the base in Florida he was sent to Vietnam. He then served in London and Germany and retired after serving at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
After retirement he flew as a private pilot for E.F Kenny Corporation and other private companies. In his retirement he lived in Fairborn, Ohio and enjoyed regularly visiting the United States Air Force Museum. He was occasionally a speaker there as well as having some personal items on display.
Anyone who knew Al, visited the Air Force Museum with him at least once, usually more than once. He paid his own way through college at WHAK radio as a radio host where he played good music as "Al Lane". He was highly intelligent and very proud to be the first in his class for his career training.
He will always be remembered by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for his big heart and his love and pride in America. He was famous for his brownies and planning creative family gatherings. He was a world traveler and frequently invited family members to travel with him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clarence Bruder; sister, Marie Tellas; his much loved, Aunt Freda and his life long best friend, "Squige" Kreft.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife, Alice; children, Bonnie Bruder, Bryan Bruder, Wanda Wist & Bonnie Petersilge; grandchildren, Ryan Bruder, Julie Wist, Christine Vanlandeghem, Edmond Wist, Marc Seibert, Tamara Piacenti & Shawn Petersilge; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday September 18, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service at 11:00 am at Newcomer - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). He will be laid to rest with military honors at Calvary Cemetery immediately following the service.
