Standafer, Louise (Jones), 87 passed away June 3, 2013 on the very day she and her family were preparing to bury her beloved husband of 67 years, Roy Lee Standafer.
Roy and Louise were married in 1945 in Greenup, Ky. She was the daughter of Ollie and Goldie Jones and the sister of Maynard, Gaylord, and Ollie Jr. (June). They all precede her in death. Roy and Louise had 3 children: Bonnie Riffle who died in 2004; Connie (Steve) Ewing of Washington Township; and Roy Lee (Debbie) Standafer II of West Carrollton. She is also survived by a dear niece, Karon Jones Wright, who lived with the family for many summers and was devoted to them. Roy and Louise also leave behind dear friends of 50+ years: Sandra and Ern Stanyon…and Roy's sister, Maxine Jones, of Lexington, Ky. Louise was a member of Judson Baptist Church for 50+ years, worked in the office at F&G Tool for over 20 years, and was an AVID Cincinnati Reds fan. She leaves behind her dear grandchildren: Heather (Jason) Fine, Kimberly Kops, Lindsey (Jesse) Miles and Cody Standafer; 7 great-grandchildren: Noah, Jaden, Houston, Brenna, Campbell, Kyler and Carly; also many nieces and nephews.
Louise was known by all for her gentle, sweet spirit. She was always stylishly dressed and wore her earrings and lipstick even to walk to the mailbox. Louise spent the last 2 winters in Naples, Florida and Connie and Steve…where their friends adopted and adored her…calling her "Sweet Mama."
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Pastor Rob Wackerman officiating.
