Louise L. Crawford

October 13, 1928 - September 20, 2021.

Beloved mother, grandmother, and talented artist. Louise was born in Mundare Alberta, Canada. She is predeceased by her parents, Jane and Peter Kuchera, her beloved husband of over 37 years, Kermit (Ken) R. Crawford, their son, Kenneth Lynn Crawford, and sister, Anne Hemingway Hasse.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Kissling (Alvin), June Lockhart (Fred), Karen Vest (Charley), and Diane Klug (Keith). Grandchildren, Rory Cox (Marie), Jody Cox (Brandy), Nicole Snell, Heather Jones, Ernest Garver (Noelle), Hunter Warren, Kenan Warren (Sydney), Ryan Fuzessery, Samuel Klug, and Andrew Klug. Great-grandchildren, Emma Jones, Lyndsey Jones, Aiden Garver, Copeland Garver, Evan Snell, Valen Warren and baby Ezra Warren who will arrive in early December. Louise is also survived by numerous family and friends.

Louise lived in Edmonton Alberta Canada until she met Ken, the love of her life. They married in Edmonton and shortly thereafter moved to the U. S. Due to Ken's career in the United States Air Force, they lived all over the states and in Weisbaden Germany for over 4 years. After moving back to Dayton, Ohio they continued to raise their family.

Louise was a devout Catholic and had a very strong faith in God. She was a member of St. Helen Parish for over 40 years and recently attended St. Peter Catholic Church.

Louise was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. Everyone would agree that she was feisty and a little bit stubborn until shortly before her passing. These attributes will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Mother's love for the mountains pulled her back to Canada as often as she could travel. She picked up her first paint brush in 1975 and only put her brush down several months ago. She loved to paint on site in Jasper and Banff Canada. Self-taught, she was an incredible artist and loved gifting her art to those she loved. She also gave art lessons to both young and old students. Her art was the passion that kept her going. She was a member of several artist guilds and galleries and displayed her work in Canada, Ohio and Alabama.

Her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was limitless. The smile on her face when they walked into her room or talked to her on the phone via Face Time was just priceless. She treasured every card, letter and art work sent to her. Mother never met a stranger. She touched everyone's life that knew her.

The family would like to say a very heartfelt thank you to everyone at Danbury Senior Living in Tipp City where mother lived for the past year and one-half. Their love and compassion shown to her and our family was amazing. We would also like to thank the angels from Day City Hospice who cared for mother in her final days.
