Louise Cooper

September 5, 1938 — July 1, 2018

Louise Cooper was born on September 5, 1938 to Norman and Virgie King in Virgilina, Virginia. She spent most of her early years on the family's farm. After graduating from high school, Louise met and married McDouglas Cooper on June 22, 1957 in North Carolina. The couple enjoyed sixty-one years of marriage and raised a family of four children. Louise was a loving wife and mother. Taking care of her children was her life's work. As the children grew, Louise and her husband moved the family to Rochester, NY. Finally, they made Dayton, Ohio their home; where they have lived since 1982.

Louise desired to continue her service to Christ by uniting with Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She was a member the choir, attended Sunday School, and served as part of the Deacons Wives Ministry. Louise made sure that her family faithfully attended church as often as possible. As the years moved forward, Louise found herself no longer able to attend faithfully. Failing health demanded that she be provided with constant care at a greater capacity than her husband, McDouglas could provide. However, they both remained faithful to God and dedicated to the care and love of each other and their family.

On July 1, 2018 God called Louise home to be with Him in heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband McDouglas Cooper, Sr.; beloved son McDouglas Cooper, Jr., Rochester, NY and three daughters Debra Cooper, Rochester, NY, Cheryl (Willis) Cooper-Caster, Edison, NJ and Michelle Cooper, Dayton, OH; three brothers James King, Norman King, Jr. and Vann King all of Rochester, NY; one sister Myra (Michael) Steller, Sacramento, CA; eleven grandchildren Devon Garrett, Janei' Cooper, Tylan Pitts, Shayla Cooper, Deneya Cooper, Ashley Caster, Aaron Cooper-Caster, Ian Cooper, Erin Berry, Ivy Berry, Asa Berry; three great grandchildren, Lhayla Cooper, Camron Cooper and Tylan Pitts, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
