Moening, Louis H. "Bud" 92, of Dayton, passed away November 9, 2017.
He was born August 7, 1925 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Sylvester T. and Anna M. (Flohre) Moening. He was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving in WWII and was the recipient of the Purple Heart for being wounded in action. Bud was an avid fisherman and in his younger years he excelled at baseball, softball and bowling .
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mary C. (Barnes) Moening in 2015, 3 sisters, Anna Marie Williamson, Elvira Heckman, and Florine Moening.
Bud is survived by his children, Mary L. Moening, Jeff (Pam) Moening, and Ted (Angie) Moening; 4 grandchildren, Jenna Moening, Joshua (Neashall) Daugherty, Lisa (Terrell) Litteral and David (Amy) Daugherty; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
