MAAR JR., Louis "Sonny" age 78 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2006 at the Ohio Masonic Home. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Sr. and Margaret Maar. He is survived by Anna, his loving wife of 38 years, his daughter Teresa and husband Timothy Bailey of Dayton, his son Ronald and wife Gail Waller of Vandalia; grandchildren Rhonda and husband Jim Lawson, Mark and wife Tanya Waller, Kristie Waller, Adam Bailey and Michael Bailey; great grandson Jimmy Lawson; sister Mary and husband Claude Slattery; numerous OSU football buddies and a host of other relatives and friends. Louis served our country in the US Navy during WWII and was the Past Commander of the VFW Post 7741. He retired from Seagram's Distillers Company after many years of service and then worked for White Allen Chevrolet. Sonny was Past President of the Irish Club, a member of the Englewood Masonic Lodge 743, a drummer in the Shrine Band, an avid OSU fan , and had a great love for boating on the Ohio River. Sonny was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road. Family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
