Louis E. Gould, passed away on February 9, 2014. Louis was born on April 28, 1924 in Akron, OH.
He moved to Dayton when he was a junior in high school and graduated from Fairview High School. He then attended Purdue University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and graduated from the University of Dayton. He proudly served in the Army during World War II and was stationed in India for 27 months. He was a registered stock broker with Vercoe & Co., Shearson Hayden Stone and Greene & Ladd (Cowen). Prior to that, he was a Sales Engineer with NCR and Singer (Kearfott) Co. In his leisure time he enjoyed dancing and was formerly a part-time instructor with Arthur Murray.
He was predeceased by his parents, Louis P. and Adah McCann Gould; his brother-in-law, James H. Smith; and his very dear friend, Betty Curtis. He is survived by his sister, Gloria R. Smith, several cousins, and many friends. Special thanks go to Betty Curtis' loving daughters, Jane, Lois, and Linda. Also to the caring staff of Sterling House in Centerville and Hospice of Dayton.
Visitation is Wednesday February 12, 2014 from 5pm to 6pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering, OH.
Funeral service is Thursday February 13, 2014 at 1pm at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel, Dayton, OH.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
