Loretta Walker

Walker, Loretta, 90 of Beavercreek, passed away December 3, 2021. She was born on October 19, 1931 in Salt Lick, Kentucky. She grew up on her family's farm, married, had 7 children and moved to Dayton, Ohio. She was a faithful follower of Christ, loved her family dearly, had a passion for gardening and spending time with those she loved the most. Loretta always made the time to spend with and help others. She was incredibly strong in her faith and was continually counseling, praying for and sharing the Gospel with others. She was beautifully compassionate and had authentic and unique relationships with everyone in her life. She genuinely loved and cared for people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Walker, her parents Arnold and Ina (Mclain) Dyer, her brother Stanley Dyer, sister Viola (Dyer) Smith and two grandchildren, Ashley Matheson and Samuel Peters.

She is survived by her 7 children, Rodney (Melody) Matheson of Lake St Louis, MO, Jonetta (Norman) Davis of Beavercreek, Ruth (Michael) Peters of Trotwood, Don (Michelle) Matheson of Lewisburg, Richard (Annalies) Matheson of Clayton, Alex (Susan) Matheson of The Villages, FL, and Harold (Deborah) Matheson of Xenia. She is also survived by her 4 step-children, Stephen (Anita) Walker of FL, Douglas (Lara) Walker of Cincinnati, Sharon (Maurice) Andrien of Naples, FL and Don (Cathy) Walker of Frankfurt, KY. She is also survived by her siblings, John Dyer of Grayson, KY, Harold Dyer of Grayson, KY, Garnetta (Dyer) Walters of Grayson, KY, Jennifer (Dyer) Rogers of Olive Hill, KY, Crystal (Dyer) Young of Bradenton, FL, Tony Dyer of Grayson, KY and Robin (Dyer) Whaley of South Point, OH.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Courtney (Josh) Tieman, Rodney Matheson II, Matthew (Nikki) Cook, Emily Cook, Diane (Jeff) Rhonomus, Erin (Edward) McGrew, Eddie (Tracey) Peters, Renee (Chad) Haney, Jennifer (Tommy) Stone, Donny (Jennifer) Matheson, Rick (Kristy) Matheson II, Luke (Margie) Matheson, Adam (Emily) Matheson, Alexandria (Josh) Mumpower, David Davis and Lynn Davis; 30 great grandchildren, Parker Tieman, Cooper Tieman, Isaiah Robinson, Elijah Robinson, Noah Zimmerman, Gabriel Peters, Harleigh Peters, Oliver Peters, Gavin Copeland, Sidney Haney, Chase Haney, Addyson Stone, Mason Stone, Addilyn Arnett, Gracie Arnett, Don Waylon Matheson, Micah Matheson, Annalise Matheson, Aaron Matheson, Maguire Matheson, Logan Matheson, Claire Matheson, Reagan Matheson, Jack Matheson, Benjamin Matheson, Emmett Mumpower, Hadley Mumpower, Owen Davis, Skylar Davis and Emory Davis; step grandchildren, Renata Walker, Jared Walker, Benjamin Walker, Stephen Walker, Olivia Walker, Curt Walker and Craig Walker; and many dear friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45434). A Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Loretta will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery following the service.
