Loretta Anne
Age 68, of Beavercreek passed away at home Monday, September 21 after a courageous battle with a number of physical ailments. She was born and grew up in Youngstown, Ohio where she graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School and Youngstown State University.
Loretta taught at the elementary and junior high level in public and parochial schools for 40 years, most recently at St. Luke School in Beavercreek, retiring from there in 2011 after 20 years. She was named the Outstanding Young Educator by the Reynoldsburg, Ohio Jaycees in 1974, an Outstanding Contributor to Education as a Teacher by the Diocese of Peoria, Illinois in 1986, and an Outstanding Teacher by the Miami Valley Catholic Education Council in 1998.
An accomplished organist, guitarist, and vocalist, Loretta was heavily involved in music ministry as an organist, cantor and choir member at her church most of her adult life. She also performed with the Miami Valley Catholic Church Musicians and the musical group Jubilee for a number of years.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Julia (Bednar) Kolesar. She is survived by her husband of 43 years Tom; son Jon, daughter-in-law Trista, and grandchildren Caden, Eli, and Teagan Feller of Marysville; son Jeff Feller and significant other Kelsey Wright of Centerville; brother Jerry and sister-in-law Michelle Kolesar of Boardman; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and "sisters" Linnea Flach, Suz Levy, and Maryanne Kosater.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Luke Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 26, 2015 with burial in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek on Friday evening from 4:00-7:00 and at the church on Saturday morning starting at 9:00. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Luke's School.
