Loretta Ann Castle, age 96 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born January 30, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Walter and Mary Wehner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby L. Castle; son, Jerry Klotzbach; four siblings, Mary Whitehead, Paul Wehner, Marcella Hedgebeth, and Charles "Butch" Wehner.
Loretta is survived by her son, James Klotzbach; granddaughter, Lisa Klotzbach; sister-in-law, Clara Wehner; two stepdaughters, Robbi Wallingford and Patricia Castle Sparkman. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her nieces and nephews, Nancy Whitehead-Combs, Vickie Whaley, Steve Whitehead; special nurse, Melanie Bailey; her doctor, Ron "Michael" Johnson; and her church family, Teri and Jim. Thank you so much for your kindness, compassion, support, and exceptional care that you have provided during this difficult time!
Loretta was devoted to her faith and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church. She was a secretary at Frigidaire and a member of the Dayton Country Club. Loretta played Golf until she was 86 years old and received many recognitions in the local newspaper. She also enjoyed gambling in Las Vegas, Nevada; Biloxi, Mississippi; and at the Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun, Indiana.
In lieu of a public funeral service, a small graveside ceremony will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Please check back later for date and time.
