Peagler, Lorenzo V., a local musician, age 25, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010. Lorenzo is the beloved son of Alejandra and Joey Peagler. He will always be his little sister Raquel's hero, and she says that now his is the brightest star in heaven. Lorenzo had a special relationship with his maternal grandmother Lucrecia Guerrero, with whom he shared a love of writing. A creative and sensitive child, Lorenzo would develop his mother's passion for music and often asked her for feedback when he began writing lyrics for his raps. Recently he placed first in a rap contest at a local club, and this past summer he successfully toured the South, performing at numerous sites. He was preparing for a second tour when his life was tragically taken. Lorenzo's good looks, humor, loyalty, and outgoing personality attracted many, but it was to his family that he was especially devoted. In addition to the aforementioned family, Lorenzo is also survived by his paternal grandmother Terilyn Dortch and his maternal grandfather Oswaldo Renta, who remembers Lorenzo as a cute and witty little boy who could always make him smile. Lorenzo leaves a host of aunts and uncles: April, Pete, Elzie, Elizabeth, Thonda, Chiquila, Randy and Travis; and many cousins. He is also survived by his great uncle Victor Anthony Guerrero and family. He was preceded in death by his great aunt Carmen Guerrero-Urbieta and great grandmother Wandaline Downing. Lorenzo's family and friends will remember and love him always. Memorial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel).
