Loraine Raymond "Cap" Shupert, age 95 of Leesburg, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 peacefully in his sleep. He was born January 8, 1926 in Adams County, Ohio to Raymond and Edith (McNeilan) Shupert. He married Helen (Shivley) June 30th, 1950 and was married for 43 years when she died. Loraine was blessed to marry Doris Rhoads on May 19, 1995 in West Union, Ohio and they had been married 26 years.
Cap proudly served in the Navy with his 4 brothers during World War II and was in the historical D-day Normandy Beach invasion of France. After leaving the Navy, Cap worked for over 35 years at Wright Patterson AFB. After retirement, Cap loved to visit family and friends, tinkering in his garage, mowing the yard, keeping up with the news and going to church. He was a member of Samantha Freewill Baptist in Leesburg at the time of his death. Most of all, Cap
loved "his friend Jesus" and was not shy to share this with everyone. He never met a stranger and loved to talk, always bringing the conversation back to the Bible and God's truth.
Cap is survived by his loving wife Doris; daughter Teena (David) Sanders and 3 grandchildren Hallie (Asa) Srein, Jolie and Philip; son Tim Shupert; and sister, Katherine Henize. Doris had nine children, that Cap lovingly embraced: Jon (Beverly) Mountjoy; Terry (Nancy) Mountjoy; Dale Mountjoy; Tom (Penny) Mountjoy; Glenda (Don) Igo; Frieda (Eugene) Newbry; Vicky (Jerry) Little; Sherry (Rick) Rowe; and many grand and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen; twin sister Lorina; brothers Denver, Donald, Fearl and Delvas "Carl" Shupert and step son Virgil Mountjoy.
