Lonnie Douglas Sams, age 74 of Xenia, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 16, 2023 at home. He was born June 25, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late George and Eva Sams.
Lonnie was passionate about his baseball cards and had a very avid collection. In his younger years, you could find him riding around the neighborhood on his scooter, often with Tori on board.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Terry, William and Jeff Sams; daughter-in-law, Luree Beckman; great granddaughter, Willow Nelson.
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Melody; 2 sons, Chad (Shaina) Sams and Jeremy Sams; 2 grandsons, Joshua Nelson and Liam Sams; 4 granddaughters, Victoria (Sams) Carsey (Kaitlin), Hailey Strickland, Grace Sams and Alyvia Elizabeth Rose; 3 great grandchildren, Liam, Emilia and Sylvia; 3 brothers, Dick (Pam), David and Danny (Trena) Sams; 1 sister, Karen (Sams) Mellotte; and many other loving family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
