Lois L. (Jones) Rich, age 87, passed away peacefully August 26, 2014.
She was born January 31, 1927, to Mary (Napier) and George Jones. During her early life, she attended school in Hyden, Kentucky, then she went on to attend Lindsey Wilson College, where she trained to be a teacher. Upon graduation she went back to Hyden, and taught school in 1946. Her father, George went to Ohio for work and she went with him. She got a job at Gallard Drug Store, then at Sunshine Biscuit. A friend from Sunshine Biscuit introduced her to Oval Rich from Jamestown, TN. On May 21, 1949 they married, on July 6, 1950 they had their first son, Stephen. On Dec 5, 1954, they welcomed their second son, Jeffrey. She later went to work for Monarch Marking.
Lois is preceded in death by sister, Betty Gilbert and brother, Avery Jones. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Oval; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Pam Rich; their sons, Jason and Sean, son Jeffrey and his son, Jeremy and Deni Profitt; great grandsons, Jason II, Jordan, Nolan and Tyler Rich; brother, Larry Jones; sisters, Kathleen Jones, Vernie Morgan, Virgie Deaton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a kind, caring and compassionate woman who was taken from us too soon, rest in peace. You were deeply loved and we will miss you forever.
Visitation is Friday August 29, 2014 from 1pm to 2pm with funeral service starting at 2pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering.
Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Miamisburg, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
