Lois Jean Connaughton

Connaughton, Lois Jean, age 81, of Beavercreek, passed away on July 26, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. Lois attended St. Anthony Catholic Church and retired from the City of Dayton Parks and Recreation Department. She was a long time manager of the band London Fog and the Continentals throughout the 1960's and 1970's, and she is a member of the Ohio Women's Fastpitch Softball Hall of Fame. Lois is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Patrick (Gerlie) of Gilbertsville, KY and Dan (Jean) of Beavercreek; grandchildren: Kelly (Jeff) Fulwiler of Cincinnati and Roselle Connaughton of Gilbertsville, KY; great granddaughter: Pheobe Fulwiler; sister and brother-in-law: Donna (Jack) Limbert; brother and sister-in-law: Dave (Phyllis) Poeppelmeier; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Patrick James Michael Connaughton; and parents: Edward & Ida Poeppelmeier. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering with Father Chris Coleman officiating. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
