Lodena S. "Dean" Tipton, age 89, of Dayton, passed away on August 30, 2021. She was born in Irvine, Kentucky, on April 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Vernon and Mary Ellen (Johnson) Case.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Clarence "Tip" Tipton; son, Ronald Tipton; daughter, Lisa Moorman; and her siblings, Leona, Kally, Mattie, Velma, Garnie, Roscoe, Loyd, Charles, Don, Ova, Osa and Audrey.
Lodena is survived by loving children, Gene Tipton and wife Nancy, Judy Tipton, Janice Stephens, Vickey Fremder and husband Fred & Patty Niswonger and husband Jim; son-in-law, Pat Moorman; grandchildren, Melissa Vanbrederode and husband Jeff, Hope Reger and husband Mike, Jackie Fleming and husband Jim, Kasandra Tipton, Lucas Tipton, Ryan Moorman and wife Jesse, Tracy & Alisha; great grandchildren, Jesse, Skylar, Peyton, Emma, Elle and Ashton Fleming, Makayla and John Vanbrederode, Brian, Justin, Reagan and Sammy; special friend of the family, Sherril Smith; and many numerous other loving family and friends.
In her free time, she enjoyed listening to country music and adored spending time with her family. Lodena was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Family was the most important gift in life to her. Her faith was also something she held very dear and she is now reunited with her husband, Tip, whom she greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Brookhaven Nursing Home for the loving and respectful way that they cared for their Mom.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 12pm-1pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Funeral Services will begin at 1pm, on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow services at Dayton Memorial Park.
