Lloyd Peters

Lloyd G. Peters, Jr., age 86, of Huber Heights, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010. He was born August 9, 1924 in Danville, IL to the late Lloyd and Margaret Peters. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by daughter, Regena Wolford; brothers: Jim and Robert Peters; and sister, Betty DeTamble.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Golden Peters; children: Beverly (Ray) Wallace, Sharon (Don) Sherlock and Cindy (Tom) Thomson; 10 grandchildren: Michelle, Mollie, Ryann, Dan, Jeff, Kevin, Traci, Karen, Kyle and Dominique; and 7 great grandchildren. Lloyd was a proud veteran of the U.S Navy and the U.S Army, having served more than 20 years, retiring as E-7. He retired as a manager at Fazio's, and at age 80, retired after many years of service from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at Reach Out of Montgomery County. Lloyd enjoyed eating at his special table at Bob Evans on Troy Street, where he was recognized wearing his military hat. He also enjoyed working crossword puzzles in his favorite chair at home.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 22, 2010. Burial to follow at Gratis Fairview Cemetery, Gratis, Ohio. Contributions may be made in Lloyd's memory to Sulphur Grove United Methodist Church, Raising the Roof Fund, 7505 Taylorsville Road, Huber Heights, Ohio 45424.
